Extera Projects: Five Novel Programs Showing Intense Partner Interest
1. From Israel, Extera is representing a company that has developed a protein crystallization technique with dramatically improved success rates. Crystallization takes only a few weeks with samples of less than 1 mg.
2. From Australia, Extera is representing a company with novel transdermal and intradermal products for the delivery of NSAIDs, Oxycodone and Lidocaine across the skin.The technology reduces inflammation often associated with transdermal delivery. The company has completed in-country phase II trials (non-US).
3. From Korea, Extera is representing a company with technology using aptamers to replace antibodies as protein binding agents. They are developing novel uses for academic and pharma research and drug development and seek interested translational research partners.
4. From Korea, Extera is working with a company that has developed cutting-edge techniques to discovery all the proteins in a human cell that may interact with any small molecule of interest: 1) to elucidate the mechanism of action or 2) to study drug side effect profiles. Oncology and inflammation are areas of intense interest.
5. From Australia, Extera is working with a company that has developed an array of compounds that disrupt the quorum sensing pathway for bacteria communication and biofilm formation. Top applications have focused on coatings for medical devices and therapeutics for Cystic Fibrosis.
Also, Extera is actively seeking in-licensing opportunities and novel technology concepts.
- Extera is exploring novel therapeutic and reagent uses for Transferrin. All concepts will be evaluated for in-licensing.
- Extera is also seeking pain products using novel delivery mechanism that qualify for 505b2 designation and are nearing IND ready status.
